4 YEAR CALIFORNIA COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE

A-G COURSES

A– ENGLISH - 4 YEARS

B– MATH - 3 YEARS REQUIRED, 4 YEARS RECOMMENDED Including Algebra 1, Algebra II, Geometry

C– HISTORY – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, U.S. AND WORLD

D- 2 YEARS OF LAB SCIENCE – 2 REQRUIRED, 3 RECOMMENDED  Biology, Chemistry, Physics

E– FOREIGN LANGUAGE – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, 3 YEARS RECOMMENDED - Same language

F- VISUAL/PERFORMING ARTS - 1 CONSECUTIVE YEAR REQUIRED

G– COLLEGE PREP ELECTIVE - 1 year

 Also required:

• SAT or ACT exams are required
 
• Placement tests for the college or sufficient SAT score
 
• A transcript
 
• The best grade point average (GPA) you can manage, especially grades 10-12.  Colleges will be looking at the 10thand 11thgrade transcripts for first consideration, and will base final acceptance on the 12thgrade transcript report.
 

(A transcript is the official summary of all your semester grades, 9 through 12, with your SAT scores, your immunizations, class rank and overall GPA.)
